Xi urges security breakthroughs

President Xi Jinping called on Tuesday for breakthroughs to be made in core cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the ability to safeguard against outside attacks.
Xi also said the central government welcomes foreign internet companies as long as they abide by Chinese laws and regulations.
The country's open door "should not and will not close", he added.
