Conference on security of nuclear power sector

Today, the Ministry of Environmental Protection is set to host an annual conference in Beijing related to the management and security of nuclear power generation. China leads the world in the pace of nuclear power development and new reactor construction, according to industry analysts. By the end of October, the Chinese mainland had 27 nuclear power generating units in operation, with total installed capacity of 25.5 gigawatts, according to the country's white paper on nuclear emergency preparedness issued in January. Another 25 units with total installed capacity of 27.51 GW are under construction.
