People: Woman runs business in her 70s

On chinadaily.com.cn

Cheng Shilian lives with her daughter-in-law in Niujiaochong village, Anhui province. Two years ago, her only son died of cancer and left debts of more than 200,000 yuan ($30,900). Last year, her daughter-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer. To pay the debts, Cheng, in her 70s, set up a tea garden. But she had no experience planting tea trees and the saplings died. She finally succeeded after learning the skills needed to look after tea seedlings, and her 30,000 tea plants were sold out. This year, Cheng aims to use a 0.27 hectare field on a hilltop.
