Cheng Shilian lives with her daughter-in-law in Niujiaochong village, Anhui province. Two years ago, her only son died of cancer and left debts of more than 200,000 yuan ($30,900). Last year, her daughter-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer. To pay the debts, Cheng, in her 70s, set up a tea garden. But she had no experience planting tea trees and the saplings died.
