Index halts four-day winning streak, closing slightly lower

Mainland stocks fell from a three-month high on Wednesday, dragged down by banks and insurers.
The Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.1 percent to at 3,050.59 points at the close.
Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd and China Life Insurance Co led declines for financial companies.
