Mine death toll rises to five
Two more bodies were retrieved on Monday night from a coal mine that collapsed on Sunday in Shache county, bringing the total number of fatalities to five, the regional mine safety inspection authority said. Five others remain trapped. In total, 19 people were working underground at Tianli Coal Mine when the accident happened at 2:50 pm on Sunday. Eight escaped and one was injured.
