Vice-premier hails energy ties with Russia

Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli met Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller on Tuesday in Beijing. During his meeting with the head of the Russian energy giant, Zhang vowed to improve Sino-Russian energy cooperation, saying that it is of strategic and long-term significance in bilateral relations. He spoke about the construction of the China-Russia east-route natural gas pipeline and the Yamal liquefied natural gas project, and called on both sides to maintain the momentum of the projects, adding that discussions should start on new collaboration and cooperation models.
