Society: Villagers peddle fresh air to urbanites
Villagers in Lianshan Mountain, Guangdong province, have been selling bags filled with local "fresh air" to tourists for up to 30 yuan ($4.60) apiece, amid growing concerns about smog in Chinese cities. The rural entrepreneurs, who live in an area boasting the largest forest coverage in the province, have come up with promotional lines such as "Buying air equals buying health" and "Air that's not tainted by industrial pollution", according to local media reports.
