Appointments tap 3 from non-Communist parties

The State Council, China's Cabinet, announced on Tuesday the appointment of three members of non-Communist political parties to senior government positions.
Cao Weixing was appointed vice-minister of land and resources, Huang Runqiu was appointed vice-minister of environmental protection and Qin Boyong was named deputy auditor-general of the National Audit Office.
Cao, 57, is a member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, one of China's eight non-Communist political parties. He has been vice-governor of Jiangsu province since January 2009.
