In the right place at the right time

Surviving the two sessions is hard - and staying ahead of the pack of Hong Kong media people is even harder.

Before I tell my story, I need to do a context briefing - the Hong Kong office of China Daily has its own editorial team covering local affairs. For the two sessions, I am accredited as part of the herd of media based in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Many mainland journalists only have access to either the National People's Congress or the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

We have access to both.
