Zhou Yongkang had meddled with Sichuan affairs for a long time. A series of big corruption cases have been exposed in Sichuan over the past years, and these cases are now being investigated and tried according to law. The crackdown on corruption has not affected the province's economic growth, because it creates a healthy political environment and market order, and stimulates economic vitality and people's innovation. Sichuan's annual gross domestic product exceeded 3 trillion yuan ($462 billion) for the first time last year, and its ranking among 31 provincial regions in China has climbed from eighth in 2014 to sixth.

Tibet's exploitable resources of solar power, hydropower, wind power and geothermal account for one third of the country's total. Yet right now less than one percent of these resources are tapped. We need to develop the clean energy sector into a strategic pillar industry in Tibet so as to increase the region's self-supporting capacity. The situation in Tibet is that too much emphasis has been placed on the protection of resources, and little has been done to develop them.
