Golden harvest at World Cup

China Daily | Updated: 2016-02-27 07:59

China flexed its muscle by winning six out of the eight gold medals up for grabs at the World Cupof Diving, which wrapped up on Wednesday in Rio de Janeiro.

China's first gold in the competition at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center - one of the facilities for the upcoming Rio Olympics - came on the opening day when Chen Ruolin and Liu Huixia won the women's synchronized 10 meter platform.

In a repeat of the medal order at last year's world championships in Kazan, Russia, Shi Tingmao and Wu Minxia took gold in the women's synchronized 3 meter springboard, with Canada's Jennifer Abel and Pamela Ware winning the silver and Australians Samantha Mills and Esther Qin in third place.
