LV to close Taiyuan store
Louis Vuitton, the French luxury retailer, is closing its sole outlet in Taiyuan, Shanxi province, as part of an adjustment in its marketing strategy, said an official. However, local sources suggest the store has seen a huge fall in sales from local coal mine managers, after their own fortunes were hit by coal price declines. LV has already closed some stores in China in the past year, including in Guangzhou in Guangdong province, Heilongjiang province's Harbin, and in Urumqi, the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region.
