Based on nominations by 100 professionals and on votes cast by thousands of netizens, a list of the most beautiful villages worldwide in 2015 was recently released by the travel channel of ifeng.com. The list is a result of evaluation based on the villages' natural scenery, history, culture, architecture and environmental protection.

Sixiyan village in Wuyuan county, Jiangxi province

Located in the northeastern part of Eastern China's Jiangxi province, Sixiyan is surrounded by rivers and is known for its Hui architecture. It was built around 800 years ago. It is home to 156 well-preserved ancient buildings, including five built in theMing Dynasty(1368-1644). The buildings are known for their beautifully crafted tiles, stone and wood.
