Photos: Woman's rural businesses thrive
After Bu Rui graduated from college seven years ago, she decided to start a business making bean curd in her hometown, a small village on the outskirts of Changchun, capital of Jilin province. Business was brisk and Bu expanded her small workshop to a company that had more than 80 workers in a 4,000-square-meter space in 2011. She also opened a pig and chicken farm that uses scraps from bean curd production as animal feed. Last year, her company earned 4.3 million yuan ($658,500).
