McCullum became just the second player after the West Indies' Chris Gayle to smash a century in Twenty 20 internationals when he belted an unbeaten 116 against Australia in Christchurch. His scintillating knock helped New Zealand to victory - just - when it prevailed in a one-over tie-breaker when the scores were tied at 214 after both innings. McCullum later became the only man to hit two tons in Twenty 20 internationals with 123 against Bangladesh at the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka.
