United to 'wait and see' on Rooney

Manchester United must "wait and see" on how long Wayne Rooney will be out of action, manager Louis van Gaal said on Wednesday as he confirmed his captain had sustained a knee injury.

Several British media reports on Wednesday said the 30-year-old striker, who is also captain of England, will be sidelined for up to two months.

Previously, United confirmed Rooney would miss its Europa League game at FC Midtjylland on Thursday.
