Culture: Britons treated to Sichuan Opera
On Saturday, performers from the Chongqing Sichuan Opera House ran a workshop and staged a show at the Museum of London Docklands, as part of Spring Festival activities to welcome Chinese New Year. Many museum visitors were wowed by the lavish costumes, elaborate makeup and skilled acrobatics of the opera, which is one of the renowned schools of the Chinese art form with a history of more than 300 years.
