Going green through the courts

Following the implementation of a new environmental protection law on Jan 1, 2015, the number of environmental public interest litigants has been springing up across the country, including administrative cases in which prosecutors have accused environmental departments of failing in their duties. Courts and environmental specialists have applauded these public interest lawsuits, part of a pilot program designed to urge prosecutors to play their roles in protecting the environment.
