Lessons on horseback offer world of benefits

By Zhu Wenqian | China Daily | Updated: 2016-02-12 08:26

Young people in China are showing a growing interest in horse riding, as parents and students increasingly value the importance of playing sports as a way to boost fitness, confidence and social skills.

Li Yongjiang, manager of Beijing-based RIFA Mustang Equestrian Co Ltd, says he has seen an increase in demand for horse-riding lessons, especially from children and students.

Li said Chinese students face too much academic pressure, and riding helps reduce stress, while parents increasingly regard jumping on a horse's back as a great way to improve growing children's health.
