China Daily | Updated: 2016-02-12 08:23

Ever since Beijing's bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games was declared successful in July 2015, the capital city's artificial-ice arenas have been having a busy time. Now, a torrent of sporting activities has been unleashed for the Lunar New Year holiday season. Besides the traditional skating hotspots such as Shichahai and Taoranting, Beijingers have more choices now to have fun on ice, like the "Bird Nestle Ice Season" in the National Stadium and Beijing Huaibei International Ski Resort.
