Toddler injured in battery explosion

A 19-month-old boy bit an old battery, which exploded and seriously injured his mouth on Sunday night at his home. Xuan Xuan needed surgery after the incident, which happened when he was imitating the adults in the family who were cracking and eating melon seeds. Doctors at a Wuhan children's hospital, who completed the operation in two hours, said it is unusual for an old battery to explode. But they encouraged parents to keep their children away from all products that contain dangerous chemicals.
