Ex-legislator expelled, removed
Gai Ruyin, former deputy head of the Standing Committee of the Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and removed from public office for abuse of power, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced on Wednesday. Gai was investigated by the CCDI in December. It found that Gai violated Party codes of conduct by visiting private clubs and using public money to treat others and to travel, and that he attempted to resist the investigation.
