Baby survives birth at 24 weeks

The survival of a premature baby born after just 24 weeks of gestation and weighing only 710 grams is being cited as a breakthrough for neonatal medicine in China. The girl born on Oct 14 in Xiamen was dubbed "palm baby" because she was the same size as an adult hand. In a critical condition for the first three months, the baby now has stabilized.
