Militant with British accent appeared in videos depicting the beheadings of Western hostages

The Islamic State group has acknowledged the death of the masked militant known as "Jihadi John", who appeared in several videos depicting the beheadings of Western hostages, in an article in its online English-language magazine Dabiq.

A "eulogizing profile" of Jihadi John appeared in the magazine which was shared online late on Tuesday by sympathizers of the Islamic State group. "Jihadi John" had been identified by the US military as Mohammed Emwazi, a Kuwaiti-born British citizen.
