Ex-adviser gets 12 years for graft

Former political adviser Yang Gang was sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Beijing Third Intermediate People's Court on Wednesday for accepting bribes. Yang was a former senior official with the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top political advisory body. He received 13.79 million yuan ($2.1 million) in bribes, said the court.
