Sino-Indonesian rail project rolls out

A major high-speed rail project in Indonesia slated for construction by China Railway International, a subsidiary of Chinese railway operator China Railway Corp, and a group of Indonesian companies is set to break ground today. The project is expected to be completed by 2018, according to Indonesian Cabinet Secretary-General Pramono Anung. The 140-kilometer rail will link Indonesia's capital Jakarta and Bandung, its third-largest city, shortening travel time between the two cities to less than 35 minutes.
