Sichuan governor falls under suspicion
Sichuan's provincial governor is suspected of severely violating Party discipline, the top discipline watchdog of Communist Party of China said on Friday.
"Comrade Wei Hong is suspected of severely violating Party discipline. He is now conducting a self-examination and pondering his faults," said Wu Yuliang, vice-secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of CPC, at a news conference in Beijing on Friday morning, in response to a question about Wei's absence from public life.
"The commission has insisted on demystification, openness and transparency (in its work) since the Party's 18th National Congress (in November 2012)," said Wu. "The commission will process (Wei's case) according to the specifics of (his) disciplinary breach."
