Man spurned by married lover

A man in Quxian county tried to commit suicide after being spurned by married woman who had asked him to divorce his wife and marry her. The man, surnamed Nie, from Hubei province, fell in love with the woman, surnamed Wang, in Guangdong province where both were migrant workers. The two made a pact to divorce their spouses and Nie followed through on the plan. But when he went to Wang's hometown in Quxian on Dec 29, he found she had not obtained a divorce and refused him. In despair, he tried to commit suicide by swallowing pesticides, but was saved by police and hospitalized. He recovered after a week.
