China-ROK talks planned after DPRK nuclear test

By Wang Xu | China Daily | Updated: 2016-01-13 08:22

The Republic of Korea's chief nuclear negotiator plans to meet with his US and Japanese counterparts in Seoul on Wednesday before meeting China's nuclear envoy in Beijing the next day.

The meetings, in response to the latest nuclear test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea last week, were announced in a statement by the ROK Foreign Ministry on Monday.

It said the country's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs Hwang Joon-kook would hold in-depth talks with the United States and Japan to respond to the DPRK test.
