This winter, many cities on the Chinese mainland, especially in the North, have encountered heavy smog, but the air in a few cities is relatively cleaner. The Ministry of Environmental Protection's November air quality rankings for 74 major cities list as the top 10:

1. Haikou

The capital and most populous city of Hainan province is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, facing the Leizhou Peninsula across the Qiongzhou Strait.
