Culture: Dough sculptures welcome Year of the Monkey

Li Jinguo, an artist from Rizhao in Shandong province, recently created a series of dough sculptures to mark the upcoming Year of the Monkey, depicting a scene of 100 of the primates welcoming Spring Festival. As part of an intangible cultural heritage program, Li spent one month designing the works of art and two weeks to complete them, using 5 kilograms of flour. The 100 monkeys, which boast various forms and expressions, symbolize a lucky and happy year under the Chinese zodiac. Visit our website to read more about the sculptures.
