Alabama rolled into the Cotton Bowl determined to wipe away the memories of last season's College Football Playoff flop - and it was no contest.
Jake Coker played the game of his career, hooking up with Calvin Ridley for two touchdowns, as the second-ranked Crimson Tide aired it out to beat No 3 Michigan State 38-0 on Thursday night to advance to the national championship game.
"I think last year when we came to this game I think we were just happy to be in the game," coach Nick Saban said. "This year we wanted to take the game."
