Senior party official killed in car accident

A state funeral committee, chaired by leader Kim Jong-un, has been set up

Kim Yang-gon, a senior party official of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was killed in a car crash on Tuesday, the official KCNA news agency reported on Wednesday morning.

Kim, 73, had served as director of the United Front Department and secretary of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea. He became a member of the political bureau of the WPK Central Committee in February.
