Capital rolls out ban on high-emission vehicles

Starting on Friday, gasoline-powered vehicles that fail to meet the National Emission Standard II will be banned from entering Beijing's Sixth Ring Road, according to the capital's environmental protection bureau. Beijing currently uses the National Emission Standard V for vehicles, similar to the Euro V standard in Europe.
