Fake leaves ridiculed by Shenyang residents

The forestry and gardening department in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, is being criticized by residents for hanging artificial leaves on trees along major streets and roads in the northeastern metropolis. Residents derided the effort, saying it damaged the trees and misled children. Workers began hanging fake leaves to "green the city" after the real leaves fell off as winter approached.
