One killed, 13 wounded in Kabul suicide bombing

The attack blamed on the Taliban is the latest in a recent series of assaults in the capital

A Taliban suicide bomber killed at least one person and wounded 13 people in an attack on a road near a school close to Kabul airport, officials in the Afghan capital said on Monday, barely two weeks after a major Taliban assault in the city.

Police said the target of the bomber appeared to have been a white pickup truck similar to the kind often used by security contractors in Afghanistan. The truck was partially destroyed in the blast.
