Culture: Andersen illustration with Chinese themes auctioned
A watercolor illustration featuring Chinese elements from Danish author Hans Christian Andersen's famous tale The Nightingale was sold for 32,000 pounds ($47,700) at a recent auction. The illustration, bought by a US collector, is from a rarely seen 1924 version of the fairy tale. It was created by acclaimed Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen in 1923. Visit our website to learn more.
