Making history with his acting

A new work on noted ancient historian Sima Qian is making waves with an unconventional look at his life and work. And making it more unique is the lead actor, who honed his acting skills through a method relatively unknown in China. Xu Fan reports.

History buffs regard Sima Qian as a master for his records of China's early history spanning 3,000 years, despite their unwillingness to face one "embarrassing" fact: The writer was castrated.

But for veteran actor Feng Yuanzheng, the unfortunate event is worthy of acknowledgment.
