Ex-senior adviser prosecuted

Han Xiancong, former vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Anhui Provincial Committee, was prosecuted for bribery and abuse of power, according to an announcement by the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Tuesday. The decision was made by the Nanping People's Procuratorate in Fujian province, the top procuratorate said. Han was put under investigation in December 2014, five months after he was removed from his post. A verdict will be announced later.
