Worker fined for cutting trees

Landscape authorities in Wuhan recently caused a stir when they fined a power supply worker surnamed Zhu 300 yuan ($46.90) for cutting tree branches during repair work on electricity facilities last week. Zhu had responded to a blackout affecting more than 300 households in the city's Xinzhou district in the afternoon. Zhu said he had to cut the tree branches to repair the facilities. Officers from the local landscape department said they fined Zhu according to relevant rules and regulations.
