Zone leads progress in medical equipment

The Zhangjiang National Innovation Demonstration Zone is taking the lead in the country in boosting the development of the domestic high-end medical equipment industry, which will greatly improve the health of China's residents.

Due to its high complexity, huge R&D investment needs and the difficulty of replacement, China's medical equipment industry has long been at the bottom of the industry chain, and overseas companies have dominated the high-end medical equipment market.

In recent years, China has accelerated the development of domestic medical equipment and released a series of measures to support this. The State Council released a guideline earlier this year of tasks required in 2015 to strengthen technology investment in the domestic medical equipment industry and research policies and measures needed to promote industry development.
