Etihad judged best airline for 7th year

Etihad Airways was awarded the title of World's Leading Airline for the seventh consecutive year at the World Travel Awards 2015 on Monday.

The Abu Dhabi airline was one of several big winners at a ceremony that took place in Morocco over the weekend.

Saudi Arabia's Al Faisaliah Suites claimed the double honor of World's Leading Luxury Suites Hotel and World's Leading Hotel Penthouse, while InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was recognized as the World's Leading Luxury Resort.

The WTA was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.

Deal to reimagine guest experience

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and Cognizant, a leading provider of information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services, announced an agreement to drive digital transformation across the airline and its equity partners on Dec 14.

Under the three-year, multimillion dollar deal, Cognizant will help Etihad Airways define its digital strategy and reimagine the guest experience across the group.

By bringing together its digital strategy, technology, industry and experiential design expertise, Cognizant will conduct a comprehensive study of Etihad Airways' current business and technology footprint to outline and operationalize a best-in-class digital ecosystem, enabling multichannel distribution, customer segmentation and personalized marketing techniques.
