Neville notes degree of difficulty

By Agence France Presse In Valencia, Spain | China Daily | Updated: 2015-12-11 08:00

Valencia boss Gary Neville believes his side paid the price for an exhausting draw at Barcelona on the weekend as it crashed out of the Champions League with a 2-0 home loss to Lyon on Wednesday.

The Spanish side needed to win and hope Gent dropped points at home to Zenit St. Petersburg to qualify for the last 16, but it was stunned by an already-eliminated Lyon side, which picked up its first European win of the season thanks to goals by Maxwel Cornet and Alexandre Lacazette.

Neville watched from the stands as a depleted Valencia battled back to seal a point against Barcelona on Saturday thanks to Santi Mina's late equalizer.
