Chinese NGOs seeking wider global horizons

More of China's non-government charitable organizations are spreading their wings overseas, Huang Haoming, vice-chairman of the China Association for NGO Cooperation, told a major gathering of 300 professionals from the sector.

The event, organized in Beijing by the China Foundation Center to celebrate its fifth anniversary, heard from Huang that as many as 50 Chinese NGOs have already organized around double that number of international projects.

A host of issues were discussed at the Nov 25 conference, which focused on building a stronger philanthropy ecosystem in China.
