Travel: Chinese tourists are top spenders in Australia

Chinese tourists spent A$7.7 billion ($5.6 billion) in Australia in the past year, three times more than the combined total by all other visitors, according to Australian media reports. Spending by Chinese visitors rose 43 percent in the 12 months to September, while the number of tourists from China grew by one-quarter, according to a report in The Australian.
