During a bitter winter, skiing is one of a few benefits for those living in North China. This year's ski season has started for many resorts scattered in Northeast China and around Beijing. Chinese travel website Mafengwo.cn recently released its list of the top ski resorts in China.

1. Beiji (North Pole) Village in Mohe

In a ski resort at the northernmost village in Heilongjiang province, people can ski from mid-October to mid-April. The downsides are extremely cold weather - sometimes below-40 C - and short daytime.
