At least 30 die in clashes with rebels

At least 30 people, including one UN peacekeeper, were killed in clashes pitting the army and UN troops against Ugandan Islamist rebels in the northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, local sources said on Monday. The violence on Sunday underlines persistent instability in an area where local activists say at least 500 civilians have been killed since 2014.
