Pellegrini dismisses talk of City crisis

Manuel Pellegrini praised Manchester City's reaction to a trying week and insisted there is no crisis at Eastlands after Saturday's 3-1 win over Southampton put his side back on top of the Premier League.

City lost at home to Liverpool 4-1 last week, then dropped a 1-0 decision at Juventus in their Champions League Group game on Wednesday to extend a winless run to three games.

But the win over Southampton, which hadn't lost away in the league since the final day of last season, lifted City's spirits and gave Pellegrini the ammunition to silence critics after Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola was once again linked with his job.
