Examples of interesting courses

Sichuan cuisine:

The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu, Sichuan province, started a course on Sichuan cuisine in September in the hope that students could master cooking - a basic skill and one that would improve students' quality of life.

The course had only 50 places for students, although four times that many applied, and the university hired a professional to lecture on traditional Chinese food, ingredients and cooking skills.
