UN climate change conference in Paris
The UN Climate Change Conference 2015 is scheduled to be held in Paris from Nov 30 till Dec 11. About 40,000 delegates from more than 190 countries and regions, including more than 130 heads of state and governments, will attend the event aimed at achieving a legally binding and universal agreement on global climate issues. President Xi Jinping will present China's proposals on countering climate change at the opening of the event. Man-made global warming and the El Nino weather phenomenon have contributed to 2011-2015 being the warmest five-year period on record, according to the World Meteorological Organization.
